Whir Fin is a lightweight plastic fin that clips over your drive tray and catches the airflow as the disc spins, producing a soft mechanical whir. It does not affect read speed, does not touch the disc, and has no electronics of any kind.

No. It makes ChatDVD sound like it's thinking. The model's response time is unaffected either way.

Will it damage my drive?

It's a clip-on fin that sits in the airflow of the spinning tray. It doesn't contact the disc or the drive mechanism.

Does it work with the ChatDVD disc specifically?

It works with any DVD drive and any disc. It has no idea what's on the disc, and neither does it need to.
